Discovery Session

Our process regularly uncovers quick-win savings of up to 20% – things like reduced licence fees, or more effective workflows from better-connected systems and centralised data. Longer-term ROI is more case-by-case, but typically plays out within 6 months of implementing recommended changes.

Discovery Session

What Is A Discovery Session?

It’s a conversation about your business first, and your IT second.

Most IT reviews look at technology in isolation (Is it fast? Is it secure? Is it up to date?)  A Discovery Session starts from a different place: your business goals, your milestones, and where friction is getting in the way of them. From there, we work back to what IT is doing well, where IT is slowing progress, and what the opportunities are for IT to support where you’re heading.

It’s led by our business owner, Simon, and/or vCIO, Anna – not a techie running through a checklist – so expect a business conversation, not a technical one.

On our side, we’ll be asking questions about your business, helping us understand and potentially provide advice or guidance on where IT could help.

We’ll cover subjects like how effective your current IT is, what frustrations you might have, how IT can alleviate or solve any nagging business problems …and the big one…  “What can IT do to help you with your business goals”?

Discovery Session

What’s In It For You?

Clarity, Backed By A Report.

Most SMEs lack a key position on their board; the CTO/CIO.  This session is about providing that missing layer of insight from individuals with decades of experience across a wide range of businesses. Their focus will be your business, its goals, ambitions, challenges and opportunities.

We follow a framework to add as much value as possible during the session.  At the end of the meeting, you will have a clear perspective on how to use IT as a lever you can pull to help your business grow.

You’ll receive a report a few days after the session that will cover:

  • Findings – how your current IT setup supports your business goals
  • Recommendations – what you could change, improve, or realign, and why
  • Value – understanding how the items we have discussed can deliver true business value

Discovery Session

Who Should Take Part?

You

This is all about you and your buiness. The most important voice in the room is yours, so bring along whatever combination of people can tell your story.  You don’t need technical expertise in the room; you need people who know where the business is going. If there’s a mix of business vision and operational know-how, then we’re all ears!

Us

Anna and Simon, our CEO, will be there from our side – a fellow business owner and the person who’d actually run the relationship day to day… not a salesperson in sight!

It helps if you can bring: a general sense of what’s working well and what isn’t (or feels like it’s lacking), roughly how many laptops/PCs are in use, a feel for response and downtime, and a few headline IT costs if you have them to hand. Nothing needs to be exact. A working sense is enough.

When Should You Book This In?

Ideally:

Before things go wrong, not after. Change made from a place of curiosity tends to stick; change made under pressure rarely does.

Literally:

We’ll work around your schedule. The session starts with a 30–45-minute call. If it runs longer, that’s because you want it to. The report follows within 3 working days, and a follow-up walkthrough call can be booked whenever suits – ideally within 2 weeks – at no cost and with no obligation.

It was all about getting the right systems in place for now, and I didn’t feel I was being upsold or pushed into anything. That really worked for me.
