How To Troubleshoot Outlook Not Opening

by

This quick step guide will show you how to troubleshoot Outlook not opening on a Windows machine.

  • Close the program if it’s running, wait a few moments, then try opening it again.
  • Restart Your Computer. Sometimes a simple restart can solve many problems.
  • Make sure you’re connected to the internet. Outlook needs an internet connection to function properly.
  • Open Outlook in Safe Mode by pressing “Windows key + R”, type “outlook.exe /safe” in the Run dialog box, and press Enter. If Outlook opens in safe mode, it might be an issue with add-ins. Please report this to Computer Care Support
  • Check if Outlook is in Use by Another Process. If Outlook is being used by another process, it might not open. Press “Ctrl + Shift + Esc” to open Task Manager, find any Outlook processes, select them and click “End Task”. Task manager can also be opened by right clicking in the bottom task tray.

If you encounter any issues, please contact Computer Care Support for assistance.
